Two more senior executives are leaving UK online video and DVD rental provider Lovefilm following the departure of CEO Simon Calver.
Group digital officer Lesley MacKenzie and chief technology officer Mike Blakemore have now also left the company, DTVE Daily can report. The departures of Calver, MacKenzie and Blakemore come a year after online retailer Amazon acquired the video-on-demand company.
Lovefilm chief operating officer Jim Buckle (pictured, left) is to take on the role of managing director, with the post of CEO effectively being abolished, following Calver’s departure to take on the role of CEO at babycare retailer Mothercare.
Lovefilm said that the managing director title was more appropriate to the Amazon structure, but that Buckle would be the lead executive of the company. It said Lovefilm’s management would continue to run the company with the benefit of Amazon’s resources and know-how.
The company declined to comment on the departure of MacKenzie and Blakemore or whether they would be replaced.
