Videofutur grows digital business

French DVD rental and IP-based video-on-demand service provider Videofutur Entertainment said it had signed up 25,000 subscribers to its combined DVD and VOD subscription offering Pass Duo by the end of last year.

Videofutur has pursued a strategy of migrating from legacy rental via franchise outlets to delivering services via connected devices. The company posted revenues of €7.19 million, down 12% year-on-year. While its legacy retail franchise operations declined by 71% to €1.02 million, its digital business grew by 33% to €6.17 million.
