INEA to build 40 new WiMAX base stations, extend network

Polish cable operator INEA is to build 40 new WiMAX base stations across the country over the next 18 months.

INEA currently operates high-denisity fixed-wireless services in Konin, Turek and Koło in the Greater Poland region and has expanded this to include coverage of Tarnowo Podgorne, Kostrzyn, Komornik, Książ Wielkopolski and Kórnik, with 34 base stations in total. INEA provides 3Mbps internet access for PLN59.90 (€14) a month and 6Mbps for PLN79.90. The operator currently has 1,300 WiMAX subscribers.
