Zuku pay TV to launch in Tanzania

African pay TV broadcaster Zuku has launched its service in Tanzania. The Wananchi Group-owned company has launched a package of 80 channels including local free-to-air channels TBC and ITV.

It will increase pay TV competition in the country rivaling services from DStv, StarTimes and Easy TV. Wananchi Group chairman Ali Mufuruki said they were targeting a 250 million population in 10 countries. “All we have done is to make pay TV affordable as we intend to reach audiences that have not been reached before,” he said.
