Locatel teams up with Philips for HbbTV-based hospitality product

Locatel, a specialist in media technology for the hospitality sector, has teamed up with Philips to launch a new portal, Ecliplse MiRa, which is bundled with Philips MediaSuite TVs.

The bundled product is targeted at three and four star hotels to offer a range of interactive services without the need for major investment.

The system is based on the HbbTV standard and is designed to enable hotels to provide a range of services over coax or wireless network, including news and information feeds, customised language interfaces and messaging as well as TV and radio channels and video-on-demand.
