KPN nears 1.5 million IPTV subs

Dutch telco KPN increased its TV market share by two percentage points last year, ending December with a 17% share.

The incumbent telco ended 2011 with 1.4 million IPTV subscribers, including 573,000 IPTV customers, up 84,000 in the fourth quarter and up from 302,000 in 2010. Digital-terrestrial service Digitenne’s base fell from 895,000 to 827,000 in the course of the year.

KPN also saw its TV ARPU increase in the 12 months ending December to €12.

The number of FTTH connections reached 102,000 at the end of the year, with 25,000 net additions in the fourth quarter.
