IPTV shows strong growth

Global IPTV subscribers grew by 6.06% in the third quarter of 2011 to total 54.4 million, according to the latest study by Point Topic for the Broadband Forum.

Russia entered the top ten IPTV countries for the first time, taking eighth place. While France is still the world leader and continues to show strong growth, China is set to take top spot soon, according to the report.

Total broadband lines worldwide numbered 581.2 million, up 3% on the previous quarter.
