Jazztel launches Spanish OTT service with Nagra

Spanish ISP Jazztel is launching an OTT TV service with technology from Nagravision. The Jazzbox platform will offer on-demand content, including HD programming, and live TV streaming from pay TV operator Prisa TV.

Nagravision is providing Jazztel with a platform based on the one it implemented for Prisa TV for its Canal Plus Yomvi service.

For an additional monthly fee of €10.95, Jazztel and Prisa TV customers are able to access the Canal Plus Yomvi services via the Jazzbox platform, which includes Canal Plus 1 and a subscription VOD service.

The Jazzbox comes pre-integrated with Nagra’s DRM solution, Nagra Media Persistent Rights Management (PRM), and is powered by Nagra’s OpenTV middleware.

“We are very excited to be launching this new solution in partnership with Prisa TV and Nagra, and bring to our subscribers the best content available today in the Spanish market,” said José Miguel García Fernández, Jazztel’s CEO. “OTT is here to stay and thanks to Nagra solutions we are able to extend the viewing choices for our viewers and enable a truly unique experience that brings them the content they want. We now have a better offering with unique and high-quality premium content.”
