German pay TV operator Sky Deutschland wants to bid for all rights to the next round Bundesliga football rights, including the online and mobile rights currently held by Deutsche Telekom, according to CEO Brian Sullivan.
Sullivan told Focus magazine that Sky wanted to distribute coverage of German football to mobile phones and tablets as well as to TV subscribers.
Sullivan said that Sky might be able to accept a free-to-air highlights show at 18:30 as part of the next round of rights. Sky has previously said it would only consider paying more for the next set of rights if free-to-air highlights were aired later in the evening.
The German Football League will launch bids for the next round of Bundesliga rights before the end of this year.
