Samsung Electronics is in final-stage talks with Google about launching a Google TV-capable TV set next year, according to reports.
Yoon Boo-Keun, president of the company’s visual display division, told AFP and Dow Jones Newswires that the company was in talks to launch a Google TV device, but would not elaborate on timing. However, he said that it would not be launched at January’s CES show in Las Vegas.
Rival TV manufacturer LG is also reportedly preparing to launch a Google TV device. However, set-top manufacturer Logitech recently announced it was withdrawing from Google TV after taking significant losses on its Google TV-enabled Revue device.
