France’s video-on-demand market should produce revenues of €200 million this year, according to the latest survey by GfK and NPA Conseil.
The figure, if achieved, would represent growth of over 20% year-on-year, with growth in VOD compensating for a decline in sales of DVDs, leaving the video market worth €1.32 billion, comparable with last year’s figure.
According to GfK and NPA Conseil, 87% of VOD views are via TVs, with PCs accounting for 13%. Some 84% of VOD revenues are pay-per-view rental, while SVOD accounts for 14% and sell-through for 2%.
