Polish telco Netia has launched a TV service using technologies from France-based set-top and home gateway company Netgem.
Netgem is providing Netia with middleware and hybrid DTT/IP set-top boxes. The connected TV service offers HBO’s OTT on-demand platform HBO GO, which subscribers can watch on various devices including smartphones and tablets.
The addition of TV services to Netia’s offering means the telco can start marketing triple-play services.
Christophe Aulnette, Netgem’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to cooperate with Netia, which is a very ambitious and driven player in this fast growing Polish market. This deployment demonstrates how our commercial partners are able to deliver breakthrough customer experiences, that offer the best of broadcast and broadband, by using our off-the shelf hybrid technologies.”
