Pay TV drives PT revenue growth

Third quarter revenues from Portugal Telecom’s residential customer segment increased 5% year on-year thanks to pay TV and broadband growth.

The telco ended September with 974,000 Meo pay TV subs after adding 55,000 customers in the third quarter. The total subscriber base is 26.7% bigger than at the same period a year earlier and PT expects to pass the one million mark by year-end. Broadband customer numbers were up 11.2% year-on-year to 1.072 million.

Third quarter operating revenues from PT’s residential business increased by 5.4% to €171 million.
