Belgian cable operator Telenet saw its analogue TV base fall to 853,300 at the end of September, down 24% year-on-year, but digital TV customers grew 16% to 2.214 million. Residential broadband customers grew 7% to 1.282 million, and triple-play customers grew by 10% to 767,800.
Telenet posted revenues of €1.015 billion for the nine months to September, up 5% year-on-year. Net profit fell 76% to €11.2 million, impacted by an impairment on DTT-related infrastructure and a loss on derivatives.
Telenet had signed up 172,000 customers to its Sporting Telenet channel follow its win of part of the country’s Jupiler League football rights from rival Belgacom.
