Interactive TV games specialist PlayJam has closed a US$5 million (€3.6 million) series A funding round with backing from GameStop Digital Ventures, Adobe Ventures, Endeavour Ventures and London Venture Partners.
PlayJam, which provides its games platform via connected TV companies including Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony, is planning to aggregate Adobe Flash-based 2D and 3D games for TVs from a range of game developers for distribution via its games network. The company recently announced content partnerships with brands including Slingo, Puzzler and Relentless, the company behind the Buzz franchise.
PlayJam plans to launch a software developers kit in the second quarter of next year, which will enable integration of features including billing, leader-boards, tournaments and integration with third party social networks.
