Free’s Niel looking at Orange Switzerland

French quad-play provider Free’s owner Xavier Niel is to take part in the second round of bids for Orange Switzerland, according to French press reports.

Niel has linked up with Goldman Sachs to make the bid, according to financial newspaper Les Echos.

France Telecom received 10 bids in the first round, from candidates including Apax, Providence, EQT, Bain Capital, Liberty Global, Doughty Hanson, Carlyle and Altice.
