Fastweb to deploy new fibre link between Milan and Rome

Swisscom-owned Italian ISP Fastweb is deploying a 100Gbps per channel fibre network between Milan and Rome, using equipment from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN).

The networks, which will allow a total data transfer speed of 4Tbps, is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter. NSN is providing its DWDM service, including network management.
