Taiwan-based TV set-top box chipset manufacturer ALi Corporation has launched the M3911 networking media processor, which it says offers fast sleep and resume functionality.
The SoC supports an embedded 10/100 Etherlnet MAC, USB ports for Wi-Fi connection and all mainstream HD formats including MPEG2 /MPEG4/H.264/VC1 and Google’s VP8.
According to ALi, the fast sleep and resume feature, previously available to PCs, enables the SoC to save about 50% on power consumption.
