Fox strikes Nat Geo Wild Spanish deals

Fox International Channels is launching Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Wild HD in Spain after striking a raft of carriage deals.

The international channels arm of the Hollywood studio has struck distribution arrangements with satellite pay TV platform Digital Plus, IPTV service Imagenio and cable operators R and Euskaltel.

This brings the total number of Fox-owned channels in Spain to eight including Fox, Fox HD, Fox Crime, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel HD and BabyTV. The channel will air series including Beard Nomad and Man v. Monster as well as The Invaders.

“Nat Geo Wild’s launch in Spain not only increases our number of FIC channels available in this market but also allows us to offer audiences a spectacular viewing experience of nature and wildlife as only National Geographic is able to do,” said Pilar Jiménez, executive vice-president and general manager of Fox International Channels Spain and Portugal. “Nat Geo Wild offers a slate of outstanding programming with its incredible imagery and compelling stories that can be enjoyed by the entire family.”
