Fox Channels launches sports division

Fox International Channels has launched a sports division and has hired Peter Hutton to run it.

The division – FIC Sports – is a joint venture between Fox’s global channels arm and Fox Sports Media Group. It will manage the syndication of Fox Sports content worldwide and will centralise the company’s wide array of international sports interests.

Peter Hutton will be in charge of the division as senior vice-president and will report to Hernan Lopez, president and chief executive, FIC. He was previously partner at sports consultancy Broadreach Media and before that he was part of the team of Ten Sports in Dubai. He will be supported by sales executive Zoe Duffelen.

“As FIC enters the sports syndication business, we are thrilled that an executive of Peter’s caliber has joined the company,” said Lopez. “Combining his extensive experience in dealing with international sports television rights and the creative eye of a television producer, Peter is uniquely qualified to lead this new endeavour.”
