Viewster expands VOD platform with connected TV deal

Switzerland-based video-on-demand content supplier Viewster has signed a deal with Turkish device manufacturer Arçelik, bringing its VOD platform to Grundig-branded connected TV sets.

The deal will see Viewster incorporated on Grundig’s new 3D connected TV models.

“With Viewster we now have also integrated a state-of-the-art video-on-demand service for breathtaking television entertainment from the internet, also in 3D,” said Akin Garzanli, Arçelik TV product manager.
Viewster-enabled TV sets will initially be available in Germany, Croatia, Spain, France and Italy, with Scandinavia, Russia, the Balkan states and the Middle East following shortly after.

Viewster offers 7,000 titles on 100 million connected devices, including TV sets, Blu-ray players, tablet devices and smartphones. The service generates more than one million daily video views.
