Content discovery specialist TV Genius has announced partnerships with technology and software companies Netgem and Marmalade in a move it said would enhance consumers’ content discovery experience across different devices and into the connected home.
Red Bee Media-owned TV Genius has teamed up with connected home specialist Netgem to combine its Content Discovery Platform with Netgem’s IPTV software and middleware. TV Genius said the partnership would simplify access to relevant TV content on devices within the home, including Netgem’s set-top boxes.
TV Genius has also partnered with Marmalade, the software that allows developers to build and distribute cross-platform applications, to produce a series of mobile apps. TV Genius’ Content Discovery Platform has been combined with the Marmalade SDK to create a mobile TV guide.
“By expanding our ecosystem of partners, consumers will benefit from finding more of the content they want to watch, and discovering more of what is of interest to them, while operators can provide the personalised service that their subscribers are increasingly demanding, thus increasing consumer satisfaction and loyalty,” said Tom Weiss, general manager, TV Genius at Red Bee Media. TV Genius was acquired by broadcast services company Red Bee Media in August.
