M6 selects Anevia for IPTV headend

French broadcaster M6 has selected video streaming company Anevia’s IP video products for building a multi-site IPTV head-end for channel monitoring, internal distribution, and rights management.

M6 Group, owner of several French TV channels including free channels M6 and W9, pay TV channels Paris Premiere, Téva, TF6, Série Club, and M6 Music, and the M6 Boutique La Chaîne shopping channel, chose Anevia to supply its headquarters, near Paris, with an IPTV head-end solution over a fibre optic network to replace a legacy coaxial and twisted pair based system.

Anevia built a solution for the M6 group based on its ViaLive DVB to IP gateway and Toucan video server for VOD and nPVR recording features. The IPTV headend streams multiple live video channels across all the M6 offices and production studios to thousands of HD video monitors as well as through the M6 intranet.

“Our open video streaming technology is designed to support multiple devices and applications,” said Vincent Meddour, regional sales director at Anevia. “We are very pleased that M6 has chosen our solution as it’s a perfect fit to their multi-site network environment.”

Anevia will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 4.B66
