Channel 4 is adding news programming to its catch-up platform 4oD.
The broadcaster’s weekday Channel 4 News programmes will be available for 24 hours after broadcast via the 4oD website and iPad app.
Vicky Taylor, commissioning editor new media, news and current affairs at Channel 4 News said, “4oD is the most successful commercial player in the UK VoD market, and it is steadily growing. It makes sense that Channel 4 News, a cornerstone of the schedule, is also available through that platform, in addition to the catch-up options provided by our app and by the Channel 4 News website.”
Channel 4 claims it is the biggest commercial broadcaster in the UK VOD market, delivering 215 million long form video views in the first half of the year. The launch of Channel 4 News on the platform comes as the 4oD website is given a revamp to include enhanced search and recommendation features.
