Canal Plus France added 96,000 net subscriptions in the year to June. The pay TV company posted revenues for the first half of this year of €2.392 billion, up 2.8%.
Canal Plus Group (which includes StudioCanal as well as the French and overseas pay TV operations) posted EBITA of €495 million for the first half, up 1.8%, but this included a second quarter dip of 10.4% to €256 million.
Parent company Vivendi has confirmed its outlook for the full year after reporting a 20% increase in adjusted net income for the first half of the year.
The French media group posted revenues of €14.253 billion for the first half, up 2.4% at constant currency compared with 2010. EBITA for the period was €3.363 billion, up 3.7% at constant currency.
Telecom group SFR posted revenue of €6.12 billion, down 2%. However broadband internet and fixed revenues grew 1.3% to €2 billion. Broadband customers grew by 96,000 in the six months to 4.983 million. The company’s Newfbox Evolution offering has attracted about 415,000 customers since its launch in November 2010.
