Httv teams up with SindiTV for connected devices market

France-based hybrid and connected TV technology specialist httv and Singapore-based SindiTV are entering into a strategic partnership to create synergies between their software deployment activities for connected devices and to enhance their international presence.

At IBC httv will be launching httvBox, its software turnkey solution for set-top boxes available for all TV distribution platforms from DVB broadcast to IPTV, over-the-top and hybrid. httvBOX offers a range of features including
personalised mosaic and UI, Push VOD and catch-up and is HbbTV compliant.

SindiTV develops high-end software solutions based on both ST and Fujitsu chipset devices. It has relationships with major Asian devices manufacturers and is involved in the German HD Plus/HbbTV market. Claiming a 50% market share, SindiTV is the largest set-top box software provider for the HD Plus market in Germany.

The pair said that beyond geographic synergies, the partnership would reduce the cost, the complexity and implementation time of httv and SindiTV software solutions. The joint forces of both companies will also provide them with the critical mass to address larger scale projects and strengthen their product offering to pay TV operators, broadcasters and set-top box/TV manufacturers.

“With its long experience with chipset vendors, SindiTV will ideally complement our software expertise for our
httvBox solution. It will give our solutions a better “time to market” and better abilities to work with STB
manufacturers,” said Bernard Dupin, CEO of httv. “SindiTV will also be able to efficiently distribute our broadcast headend products – datastreamers – and end-to-end solutions – push-VOD, catch-up TV, video mosaic – in the fast growing south east Asian market.”

httv will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 4.C60 and will be hosting SindiTV on its stand
