Greek telco OTE is moving forward with plans to launch a new pay TV offering via satellite in September, according to local reports.
The new Conn-X satellite TV offering will be cheaper than the existing satellite offering from rival Nova, currently available on Eutelsat’s Hot Bird satellite position at 13° East. The OTE Conn-X bouquet will broadcast via Eutelsat’s 9° East position, and is expected to cost less than €20 a month.
OTE currently has about 55,000 IPTV subscribers across Greece. The new platform will target households outside the reach of its IPTV network.
