Wireless technologies and set-top specialist AirTies has announced a partnership with WiFi networking specialist Quantenna to build high definition video streaming solutions.
The first products are new versions of AirTies’ wireless video access point (AP). The company’s new Air 4610/1 and Air 4640/1 APs featuring Quantenna silicon will be on display during next month’s IBC trade show in Amsterdam.
“The biggest challenges in wireless video streaming have always been how to mitigate interference and penetrate concrete walls,” said Metin Taskin, chief technology officer at AirTies. “Through their combined resources, Quantenna and AirTies have successfully overcome these problems. Our tests show a performance level that outstrips anything available in today’s market in terms of quality, range and reliability. We’re hugely optimistic about the potential impact of our combined technology on the wireless home networking marketplace.”
