A&E Networks’ History channel is expanding in Romania with a launch on Romtelecom’s IPTV and DTH platforms.
History will be available to Romtelecom subscribers on its DTH and IPTV Extra and Maxim packages. The channel is programmed and operated in Romania by AETN UK, a joint venture between A&E Networks and UK pay TV operator BSkyB.
Christina Foley, vice-president of distribution and new business development at AETN UK, said: “Expanding the reach of History in Romania is an important milestone in our continued roll-out of the channel within the market. History’s unique positioning and content makes us a valuable channel to platforms. Romtelecom has recognised this and has embraced History with great enthusiasm. We are very pleased that such a leading player in the market has added our channel to its offer.”
History is currently available in over 150 countries to over 300 million TV households.
