Broadcasters will be asked to pay up to R150 million (€15.2 million) for South African soccer rights in the next round of bidding, a South African Football Association (Safa) official has said.
State broadcaster SABC paid R30 million for the rights last time they were up for grabs. Its deal with the Safa has now expired and the association is expecting a much-increased sum after the country hosted the world cup and strong performance of the national team in the Fifa rankings.
