Sharp and Oregon launch connected TVs in Italy

Sharp has selected browser middleware specialist Oregon Networks’ Onyx browser for its connected TVs in Italy.

The TV manufacturer has launched its LC32-LE225 model in Italy. The device enables users to browse internet video and social networking sites, and to source personal media content from other devices that have storage capabilities, using Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) protocols for interoperability over wired or wireless networks.

The local language, branding and selection of services available through the Onyx media browser, have been adjusted for the Italian market. Oregon said fresh content and apps can also be delivered on a regular basis via its remote upgrade and Apps Store facility.
