Astra 1N set for second launch attempt today

SES’s Astra 1N satellite is scheduled to launch tonight from Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana. It will be the second time the operator has attempted to launch the payload, following a failed attempt on July 1.

The satellite offers 52 Ku-band transponders and will first provide interim capacity at 28.2° East. Subsequently it will be moved to 19.2° East, from where it will mainly serve the German, French and Spanish markets.
