Triple-play and VOD help boost TDC TV

Danish telco TDC, which includes cable operator YouSee, had 1.486 million TV customers at the end of June, up 3.6% year-on-year. Pay TV subscriber growth for the second quarter amounted to 4,000 subscribers. YouSee saw EBITDA growth of 14.7% for the quarter.

TDC said the growth in its IPTV service was due in part to the success of its HomeTrio triple-play package and YouSee’s success with video-on-demand. TDC TV revenue grew by DKK51 million (€6.8 million) or 25.4% for the first half of the year to reach DKK252 million. YouSee revenue for the first half grew by DKK137 million or 6.9% to reach DKK2.13 billion.

YouSee’s basic service, YouSee clear, posted revenues of DKK1.423 billion, up 7.5%, while premium service YouSee Plus posted sales of DKK103 million, up 18.4%.
