Apple to launch connected TVs in six months, says analyst

Apple could launch three connected TV models next year, according to Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry.

Chowdry issued a note to investors suggesting that Apple will launch three sets in March based on a chip developed by PA Semi. He said he had obtained the information from a number of developer events.

Apple, which has over $76.2 billion (€44 billion) in cash and short-term securities, already offers a TV platform. Apple TV is a set-top device that enables users to stream movies and TV series.
