Belgian cable operator Telenet ended June with 1,319,000 digital TV customers. However, due to the decline in analogue customers its total TV subscriber base was 3% lower year-on-year at 2,233,900.
The operator has seen success in its promotion of triple-play service. During the first six months of 2011, it added 32,300 new triple‐play subscribers, bringing the total number of customers taking all three fixed services to 751,500 at the end of June, a 9% year-on-year increase, representing 34% of its overall customer base.
For the first six months of 2011, Telenet’s premium cable TV revenue increased €16.9 million, or 24%, compared to the prior year period to €88.7 million. In the second quarter it achieved premium cable TV revenue of €45.8 million.
