Eutelsat records double digit growth

Eutelsat recorded double-digit revenue growth in the 12 months ending June 30.

The satellite operator posted full year revenues of €1.168 billion, up 11.5% year-on-year, with the Video Applications business bringing in 68.6% of revenues.

At the end of June, Eutelsat’s satellites were broadcasting 3,880 channels, up from 3,662, an increase of 217 new channels. The number of HD channels reached 220, up by 65.

Eutelsat had 742 operational transponders at the end of June, of which 588 were leased, representing a fill rate of 79.2%.

EBITDA was up 11.9% to €926.4 million.

Eutelsat has announced the appointment of Michel Azibert as deputy CEO and corporate officer. He will join the company on September 5 from ower and transmission company TDF, where he is currently deputy CEO.
