Equestrian lifestyle company Horse & Country (H&C) is to roll out its UK TV channel of the same name to other European territories.
H&C has appointed Communications Equity Associates International to seek up to £5 million (€5.67 million) in fresh equity to fund its expansion, and has opened negotiations with cable and IPTV operators.
Target territories for the launch of Horse & Country TV in the near term include The Netherlands and Belgium, where the company says it has received interest from four major cable operators, and Germany and Scandinavia.
H&C also says it is in talks with other equestrian TV channels to jointly acquire sports rights, produce programming and form an affiliated advertising and sponsorship network. Last year, the company launched a two-hour branded block on HRTV in the US. H&C also intends to use the capital it raises to double the size of its programme catalogue over the next two years.
