View all Portugal Telecom nears one million TV customers

Portugal Telecom has increased its share of the country’s pay TV market to 32% at the end of June compared with 26% a year earlier.

The telco, which operates the Meo IPTV service, ended June with 919,000 pay TV customers, up 31% from 702,000 at the same time last year. PT said its pay TV subscriber base had now reached “critical mass”.

The telco has also seen its broadband subscriber base increase to 1,040,000, up 11.5% year-on-year.
