â¨The BBC is mapping the availability of mobile phone services throughout the country. The UK public broadcaster is undertaking a two-month survey, which it said will provide the first independent map of 2G and 3G cell phone coverage.
The broadcaster is enlisting help from members of the public who can use an application that measures coverage on their cell phone. Apple iPhone users, however, will not be able to take part as there are difficulties in collecting the relevant coverage data, the BBC said.
