The number of households taking triple-play services is set to quadruple by 2016, according to Digital TV Research.
Over a quarter of the worlds TV households will subscribe to a triple-play service by 2016, compared to just 7.1% at the end of 2010. That represents growth from 96 million TV homes to 387 million TV homes.
Asia Pacific will account for 58% of all triple-play households by 2016, up from 35% in 2010. Of the 291 million additional subscribers, 147 million will be in China, 24 million will be in the US, 18 million will be in India and 13 million will be in Russia.Â
