DTH numbers up in Portugal

Portugal ended March with a total of 671,000 DTH subscribers, according to communications regulator Anacom. That figure represented a year-on-year increase of 17,000.

By the end of the first quarter, DTH had a 23.9% share of pay-TV homes in Portugal, while cable was the leader with a 50.9% share. Overall, pay TV households numbered 2.81 million, up from 2.60 million.

Zon TV Cabo is the marketing leader for DTH in Portugal, followed by Meo.
