Hungarian digital universe grows

Some 55.9% of Hungarians had access to digital TV at the end of May, up from 55.1% a month earlier, according to the latest update from regulator the NMHH.

Digital cable and IPTV subscribers numbered 609,000, up from 598,000, while satellite viewers numbered 893,000, up from 892,000.

Some 22.1% of households took pay TV services. Among distributors, UPC was the market leader with a 25.8% share, followed by Digi with 23% and Magyar Telekom with 21.2%.
