Lovefilm to increase workforce by 20%

Online streaming service and DVD retailer Lovefilm is to increase its British workforce by 20% over the next three months following its purchase by Amazon.

The US online retail giant acquired complete control of Lovefilm in January and is now looking to staff up its London office. It is currently searching for web developers and software analysts as it looks to expand its digital service in the UK and across Europe, where it currently operates in Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

”Following Amazon’s acquisition of Lovefilm we have created around 40 jobs at our London office, half of which are in the technology and digital sphere. In line with our constant digital expansion we are extremely pleased to continue to create new opportunities for people who are looking for careers that they can not only develop and grow in, but enjoy,” said Lovefilm CEO Simon Calver.
