Consumer interest in buying TV series and movies digitally is cooling, according to new research.
According to a report by research group Screen Digest, consumers are typically enthusiastic initially about new digital services that allow them to buy content, but the level of interest then drops off. â¨The research makes worrying reading for the Hollywood studios and other major content providers that have been hoping digital sales will mitigate the effects of rapid decline of the DVD business.
Screen Digest notes that while Apple and others continue to sell movie and TV content electronically, about 30 smaller services have closed.
