Sky Deutschland will launch a third HD sports channels next month.
The pay TV operator will debut Sky Sports HD Extra on August 6 to customers in Germany and Austria. The channel will join Sky Sports HD 1 and Sky Sports HD 2 and will be used to broadcast an additional Bundesliga football match on Saturday afternoons. It will also be used to ensure Sky Deutschland can broadcast all UEFA Champions League matches in HD for the first time.
The channel will be available to all subscribers to the Bundesliga and HD Sports packages. It will also be offered via Sky Go, the operators multiplatform service that delivers channels via WiFi to computers, smartphones and tablets.Â
The launch of Sky Sports HD Extra will take the total number of HD channels available on the platform to 29.Â
