News Corp backed Italian pay TV platform operator Sky Italia is embroiled in another row with Mediaset after removing one of the Berlusconi-family controlled broadcasters channels from its line-up.
Sky pulled the Mediaset Plus channel, citing its programming line-up, which it claimed was not in line with the terms of its carriage agreement. The channel, which has been carried on Sky since 2008, is effectively a Âbest-of offering, with various shows carried on MediasetÂs free-to-air channels.
Mediaset responded to having its channel pulled by saying it would seek compensation. It said it has Âscrupulously respected its contract with Sky and denied the programming transmitted contravened the terms of its contract with the pay TV operator in any way.
