News Corp and Moby plan to launch a pair of Farsi-language channels, according to local press.
The US-listed media company and the Afghanistan-based company already operate a Dubai-based joint venture, Broadcast Middle East, which launched the Farsi1 channel in 2009. The joint-venture will now roll out a female-skewed offering, Zemzemeh and another, as yet unspecified channel, before end-2011. The female-skewed channel will launch this month and be transmitted across the Middle East and North Africa region by Eutelsat.
