ITV Player launches on Android

British commercial broadcaster ITV has launched a catch-up application for Android-operated mobile phones.

The network has launched its ITV Player app for Android 2.2 devices, which will allow customers to watch programmes from ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 for up to seven days after their initial broadcast. The app is free to download, however, the broadcaster hasn’t ruled out introducing a payment structure in the future.

ITV’s managing director, online Robin Pembrooke said, “I’m very excited to be launching our first ever ITV Player mobile app and genuinely believe that the simple design and high picture quality of this app is a leap forward in providing our customers with what they want to watch on the move.”
