Connected TVs to reach 10 million German homes by 2012

A third of German TV viewers watch programmes via PC, and one in ten watches TV on smartphones or tablet devices, according to research released by Bitkom, Germany’s Federal Association for IT, Telecommunications and New Media.

The report, using data provided by the European Information Technology Observatory, predicts that by the end of next year, 10 million German homes will have internet-connected TVs. The total market for networked ICT and CE devices is expected to increase by almost 28% this year to €16 billion.
