CME to offer online 3D content

Central European broadcast group CME is to offer online 3D content in the Czech Republic via its video-on-demand service, Voyo.cz.

CME will offer 3D versions of popular local shows including Rose Garden Medical (Ordinácii v ružovej záhrade) and The Street (Ulice) on the portal and will also screen US horror movie Piranhas in 3D. The shows will be aired in analogue 3D, requiring the use of red and blue film glasses. These will be made available through online electronics store Mall.cz, which has a partnership agreement with CME’s Czech TV channel TV Nova.

“We are very pleased to be the first legal video portal to bring 3D content to the Czech Republic,” said Pavel Krbec, director of internet and interactive services for TV Nova. “This is our first step in this direction. In the future we hope to offer local content shot in 3D, so viewers will have a significantly better quality 3D experience.
